Janice (Jan) Brooks & Axel Neumann, Anniversary Celebrations in New Zealand..., Travelled on 2 Mar 2026

My favourite experience was visiting Mt Cook followed very closely by our overnight trip on Doubtful Sound. We were so pleased that there were no spots left on the larger vessel and you got us onto the Tutoko 1. There were only 12 of us plus 3 crew. We caught crayfish and blue cod for tea. It was so much more personal than the larger vessel. Accommodation was excellent at all the places we stayed, no problems with any beds! All the tours we did were effortless with not having any problems with the organisation.
Thank you for all of your work putting our trip together. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bernard Gleeson, Bernie's North Island Adventure, Travelled on 8 Mar 2026

I enjoyed the whole trip. Most days I had one of more activities to look forward to but I also very much enjoyed the simple joy of driving around beautiful NZ. The Tongariro Crossing was probably the highlight but there were so many others; Driving Creek, Orakei Korako, Rotorua. I did get 4 rides in which was a great way to see more of NZ with some exercise included. The car was reliable and easy to drive and most accommodation was vey comfortable.
Thank you Emily-Rose. It was so easy to work through the process with you in order to end up with a wonderful itinerary which guaranteed a fantastic holiday.

Jeff and Esti Berk, Berk's New Zealand Adventure, Travelled on 3 Feb 2026

We particularly enjoyed our day trip/hike in Abel Tasman with our superb guide Lucy Broadhead. (We had Lucy all to ourselves, and her detailed knowledge of the surrounding topography, trees, ferns and wildlife, as well as her warmth and easy-going personality really made it an outstanding day). Our breathtaking helicopter ride from Franz Josef town over the mountains/glaciers (including a snow landing) was equally a highlight of our trip. We enjoyed both islands of New Zealand, but especially the South Island. The varied scenery of the South Island is truly magnificent, and often breathtaking.
We had a wonderful and unforgettable experience in our New Zealand Adventure. The itinerary planned for us by Jessica Dryden was fantastic (and the great accommodation chosen and arranged for us by Jessica throughout our month in New Zealand exceeded our expectations). It was a real pleasure communicating with Jessica. She was meticulous in planning our trip to cater to our specific requirements, as well as being warm, patient and highly professional, and we were so happy to finally meet her when we arrived in Wanaka. The 24/7 availability and support by Fine Tours during our trip, whenever occasional unexpected problems occurred was remarkably impressive and calming, and your App was immensely useful.

Haley Williams, Zachary & Lakey Orford, Your Southern Icons Self Drive, Travelled on 14 Mar 2026

Our trip was incredible. Everything ran so smoothly, nothing was a problem the entire trip. All of our accomodation was centrally located, clean and very comfortable. The activities we booked were so much fun. The whole family enjoyed them. A huge thank you for Lisa for putting together a wonderful itinerary that perfectly suited our interests.

Jann & Neil Fellows, Your Anniversary Golfing Tour of New Zealand, Travelled on 5 Mar 2026

We really enjoyed Mt Cook because of the uniqueness of the landscape.
Just wanted to say how professional your company was right from day 1 of our dealings with you. All the hotels & activities that you organised were excellent & exactly what we asked for, especially the golf. We couldn't have wished for a better tour to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks again for creating some great memories. Jann & Neil

Joseph & Cheryl Murphy, Auckland to Queenstown Discovery Tour, Travelled on 2 Mar 2026

Where to start... The Maori cultural experience was very well presented. The family were courteous, welcoming, engaging, very talented and made one actually feel at home with them. Their presentation of various aspects of Maori culture were uniquely presented. The drive to Mt Cook was spectacular. The drive and ship experience for Milford Sound was well worth the time and cost. In all, you put together an excellent two week itinerary. And we know that we merely scratched the surface of New Zealand.

Lorraine & David Elliott, Lorraine & Dave's New Zealand Adventure, Travelled on 9 Feb 2026

Experiencing the Māori culture on the North Island and the incredible scenery on the South Island. The view of Mount Cook from our bedroom in the Hermitage Hotel was amazing. Of all the excursions we did the Te Pa Tu Cultural Experience and the Glacier Explorer were both very special.
From initial contact with Alf, the telephone calls to fine tune the details for our needs and the implementation of all the individual elements, hotels, rental car and trips etc was superb. We also found the app to be excellent and always received prompt replies to the queries we submitted. Thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday which was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary - we have some fantastic photos and memories from our trip.

Morven Andrews , Richard & Pamela Rehl, North Island Escape, Travelled on 8 Mar 2026

The trip was very well curated, with clear instructions and lots of interesting info/advice on things to do and sites to see. NZ Self Drive Tour staff were readily available to answer any queries and advise us of any changes to the plan due to weather conditions etc. I particularly enjoyed the Coromandel Peninsula and am keen to return sometime for more walks and exploration. I found the Redwoods Tree Walk extremely challenging due to my irrational fear of heights but managed to race to the finish line with my eyes semi-closed! Accommodation was all very comfortable though might select more b&b style in future.
Thanks to all involved, and to Russell expecially, for a great trip!

Ronald & Jeana Smith, David & Dana Legare, Ron, Jeana, Dave & Dana Discover New Zealand, Travelled on 26 Feb 2026

Oh my goodness, it's difficult to pinpoint what we enjoyed the most. All of the tours and excursions were super fun, challenging and would do them again! Even the luge... we giggled the whole way down! We especially loved the Redwoods Altitude, The Hobbiton, Glacier Helihike at Franz Josef, Lord of the Rungs, Mount Cook and Milford Sound. Absolutely exceptional! We also truly enjoyed the Maori Village Dinner, so great to learn about your culture and see traditional dance. Everything went flawlessly (check ins, check outs, rental car, etc) and we would have no problem referring you to friends going to New Zealand. Thank you so much for the amount of effort you put into our holiday!
Just a HUGE thank you for everything! You made trip planning much easier than if we had done it ourselves.

Mark & Cindy Godfrey, 29 Day North to South New Zealand Discovery, Travelled on 11 Feb 2026

Best place we stayed was pihopa retreat - a stunning experience. Across the whole trip we enjoyed the sheer variety of experiences- no 2 days were the same! All the accommodation booked put us in the right place to maximise our time wherever we were. Top 5 highlights in no particular order - Doubtful Sound - amazing scenery and so peaceful with no other boats to be seen. Mount Cook - great walks (the view from Sealy tarns - wow) and Glacier explorers boat trip. Kaikoura- twilight kayak with a seal eating squid right in front of kayak! Martinborough- loved the vibe of the place and the drive to Cape Palliser was wonderful. Waiheke Island - great gourmet tour - a really nice way to start the tour.
Just many thanks for a great trip. We detailed a few highlights but beyond these we had a wonderful time throughout all 29days of our tour. (it was tough picking a top 5!)
